How it works

How does the Guardian SOS button work?

With one press, the SOS service calls for help. When the button is activated, the system automatically places an emergency call to the pre‑selected family members or caregivers. All designated contacts receive an immediate phone call, ensuring the alert is not missed. This provides confidence that help will be dispatched quickly and at the right time.

Carehome Compare

Smart and affordable alternative to care homes

Guardian is a cost‑effective alternative to care homes — our smart, sensor‑based systems cost just €13–43 per month, while the average care home fee in Estonia is around €1,250 per month. That means Guardian can be 30–90× more affordable, while preserving independence and dignity at home.

Care home prices continue to rise, making them increasingly unaffordable for elderly people on average pensions. Guardian enables safe living at home, saving thousands of euros per year while preserving familiar surroundings and independence.

Hard to press accidentally, easy to press in an emergency

Guardian's SOS button is intelligently designed - it's difficult to press accidentally, but very easy to press in an emergency. Higher edges prevent false alarms, while a deliberate finger press activates the SOS signal instantly.

I don't always remember to wear the panic button

The panic button is the fastest way to call for help when a person can and wants to use it. But we know that in all situations this may not be possible (for example, falling, health issues, or forgotten button).
Therefore, we also offer: Guardian's completely automatic care system that works in the background without requiring any action from the elderly person.

SOS Button FAQs

Answers to common questions

No — installation is very simple. Guardian is fully wireless and sensors attach using adhesive pads. No technical skills, drilling, or wiring needed. The central hub only needs to be plugged into a power outlet.
A standard SOS button requires the senior to press the button during an emergency. A sensor-based system like Guardian adds passive safety: it monitors daily routines and can trigger alerts even if the senior can’t press the button, for example in case of loss of consciousness.
The battery lasts up to 2 years and does not require charging. When the battery runs low, the system notifies you in advance and we’ll send a replacement battery free of charge.
The SOS button is designed for home use and works in the home where the Guardian central hub is located.
You’ll receive an automatic phone call immediately after the button is pressed. In the Guardian portal you can save the Guardian number, so you always recognize that the incoming call is important.
